Regarding hope...

"But for all the horror, there are some reasons for hope."

Is there actually a reason to be hopeful? Hope means to cherish a desire with anticipation. Cherish means to keep or cultivate with care and affection or to entertain or harbor the mind deeply and resolutely. Desire means to long or to hope for. Then hope means to cultivate with care and affection what we long for. I insist. Is there a reason to be hopeful? If tomorrow is not here yet; and when it is, it will be today and we will be then still be hoping?
